Experience the music, find your people, and grow

Soundbox is an innovative multi-genre music workshop that crosses the boundaries of traditional educational formats and provides a unique space for the intensive artistic development of all generations. The project connects participants of various ages and experience levels—from children and talented teenagers to students of conservatories and music academies, as well as emerging professionals.

Welcome to the oldest music school in Slovakia

The main goal of the workshop is to create an inspiring environment for collaborative creation, improvisation, and interpretation under the guidance of experienced instructors and active artists. Participants work in smaller creative groups where they discover new musical approaches together, experiment with modern sounds, and develop their technical and expressive skills regardless of their initial proficiency level.

The project provides a safe and stimulating space for intergenerational experience-sharing, where younger talents grow through direct contact with older, more experienced musicians, and vice versa. The outcome of the workshop is not only the deepening of individual musical perception but also the creation of new creative collaborations, friendships, and joint musical outputs.

Participation Options (Choose your format):

  • FULL Package (Full-day program): A complete three-day experience from morning to afternoon. The price includes the full music program, afternoon creative workshops, outdoor park activities, as well as lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
  • MORNING Package (Half-day program): Participation exclusively in the morning intensive lessons, sectional rehearsals, and the joint orchestra ensemble (does not include lunch or the afternoon program). Participation in Friday’s final concert is, of course, open to both groups!

What can you look forward to?

  • Breaking Genre Boundaries: We will bridge the worlds of classical and Baroque music with pop and film scores. Everyone will have space to express their own musical intuition.
  • Joint Band & Sectional Rehearsals: Experience a wide range of sounds in our joint orchestra, while also focusing on the details during sectional rehearsals led by our tutors.
  • Rhythmic Workshop in the Park: We will set aside our instruments and head out to the nearby park. Get ready for intensive body percussion—discovering rhythm through movement and collective jamming. (For FULL package participants)
  • Artistic Chillout: Music will be connected with visual art. Through creating mandalas and other creative techniques, you will clear your mind and give your thoughts a new dimension. (For FULL package participants)
  • Final Concert: We will wrap up our journey with a concert for friends, family, and the public.

Come gain new inspiration, meet great people, and experience the atmosphere of a musical summer in the very heart of Bratislava.

Mucha Quartet is one of the leading Slovak string quartets with international renown. The leader of the quartet is violinist Juraj Tomka, with Jozef Ostrolucký (violin), Veronika Kubešová (viola), and Pavol Mucha (cello) as members. The ensemble regularly performs at major festivals both at home and abroad, and its members have a long-standing commitment to teaching and working with young musicians. Their pedagogical approach stems from combining performance practice with an emphasis on ensemble playing, stylistically accurate interpretation, and musical communication.
